eSUN PLA-HF: filament built for 1000 mm/s
On 5 August, eSUN launched PLA-HF, a high-flow PLA tuned for very high speed printing. Where PLA-HS held 300 mm/s and PLA+HS roughly 350 mm/s, PLA-HF is reported to hold clean quality at 600 mm/s in daily use and remain free of underextrusion and layer skips even in a "beast mode" push toward 1000 mm/s.
How it stays fast and clean
- Lower heat capacity - the material heats and cools faster, so it sets in time and avoids heat-buildup edge distortion.
- Controlled viscosity - high flow without the viscosity dropping so far that it strings or sags.
- Strong interlayer bond - reported Z-axis tensile strength near 32 MPa, so large and long prints keep structural integrity.
- Good first-layer adhesion - fewer warp, curl and shrink failures.
For long builds and mass production of figures or prototypes, PLA-HF can reportedly cut print time by 30-50% while holding accuracy. It signals that material manufacturers now treat high-speed flow, not just maximum temperature, as a first-class design goal.
Tokyo Ink PP Super White: opacity finally solved
Japanese color-chemistry veteran Tokyo Ink announced PP Super White, a polypropylene FDM filament for sale from 3 August. Most white filaments use low pigment loads and turn translucent in thin walls. Tokyo Ink instead disperses a high-concentration white pigment uniformly, delivering high whiteness, reflectance and light-blocking even in thin sections.

PP is a notoriously tricky material to print (warp and adhesion), so this launch is really about the optical formulation. It targets lighting, optics and research where uniform white appearance and light management matter more than raw strength - a genuinely different niche from Polymaker, eSUN or BASF filaments.
Junting Lux JT-3DX-30: proper long-afterglow PLA
Hangzhou Junting Luminescence unveiled its JT-3DX-30, a luminous PLA carrying 30% self-developed strontium aluminate long-afterglow pigment. Where cheap "glow" filaments use low-grade powders that precipitate or barely charge, this formulation keeps pigment dispersed and glows for 5-8 hours after 5-15 minutes of light exposure, with cyclic, non-fading behaviour.
- Recommended print temperature: 215-225 °C; below 215 °C it clogs, above 225 °C it dries and loses toughness.
- Density 1.88 g/cm³ with full diameter inspection per reel (±0.05 mm tolerance).
- Color options include yellow-green, sky blue, blue-green and custom.
Reliable long-afterglow filament has been a persistent gap, so a stabilized 30%-pigment formulation is a welcome step forward for toys, signage and safety markers.
