Remote monitoring has matured from "nice to have" to "why wouldn't you?" In 2026, a decent camera and the right software can save you from the heartbreak of checking on an 8-hour print only to find a spaghetti monster. Here's what the landscape looks like today.

Option 1: Bambu Lab's Built-In System

If you're running a Bambu Lab printer, you already have a camera and AI spaghetti detection built into Bambu Handy. It works surprisingly well — the AI catches about 85% of failures before they become disasters. You can pause or stop prints from your phone. The downside: it's Bambu-only and the camera framerate is low (0.5-1 FPS).

Option 2: OctoPrint + Plugins
