Exposure Calibration

  1. Print a calibration test — Cones of Calibration (free on Printables.com)
  2. Start with manufacturer settings — Most resins list parameters on the bottle and at the ANTINSKY Parameters page
  3. Bottom exposure — 6–10× normal (25–35s for mono screens)
  4. Normal exposure — 2.0–3.5s at 50μm for standard resins; 1.5–2.5s for detail resins
  5. Check results — Overexposed = lost detail; underexposed = failed supports

Support Strategy

  • Angle models 30–45° to reduce peel forces
  • Heavy supports on first contact points → medium → light
  • Always support island areas
  • Light supports at high density for detail; heavier but fewer for functional parts
  • A raft or skate improves first-layer adhesion

Post-Processing Workflow

  1. Rinse — 95%+ IPA or dedicated detergent, 3–5 min, two-stage wash
  2. Remove supports — Use flush cutters before curing while resin is softer
  3. Dry — Compressed air, ensure no pooling in crevices
  4. UV cure — 405nm station, 3–10 min, rotate for even exposure
  5. Sand/finish — 800–2000 grit wet sanding

Common Problems & Fixes

  • Prints stick to FEP → Increase bottom exposure, lubricate FEP
  • Layer lines / delamination → Increase normal exposure, check Z-axis
  • Bloated details → Reduce exposure, warm resin to 25–30°C
  • Support failures → Increase contact diameter, add more supports
  • Yellowing → UV-resistant clear coat, avoid sunlight storage

Temperature Matters

Cold resin (below 20°C) causes under-exposure. Warm to 25–30°C using a ANTINSKY HeatMixer-HM100 or warm water bath. Consistent temperature reduces viscosity swings for reliable layer formation.
